My name is Jason, and I have been traveling my whole life. Now that I am approaching that unfortunate age of 40 which for a gay man feels like retirement from life, I feel this is a good time to share some of my experiences, as well as pertinent news and information, with those that may be interested.
You may wonder what qualifies me to talk about gay travel. The first reason is that travel is my passion. Always has been. The second reason is that I have had the fortunate experience of traveling around the globe as a kid with my family; as an adult with friends and my partner; or as a professional working in the travel industry for my entire career for airlines, hotels, tour operators or travel marketing firms. Oh, and I’m gay, too.
I watch the world of gay travel through other blogs, social networking web sites, online or print media, and press releases. There is and has been a strong interest in the travel habits of us gay and lesbian consumers by companies world wide. They know we love to travel and they want to get a piece of that lucrative pie.

Why do we, as gay and lesbian people, love to travel so much? That is not an easy answer. I can only suggest that my own experiences and thoughts may apply to others. I think my love of travel comes partly from the incredible desire to be free. Free from prejudice. Free from the closet. Free from restrictions. Free from myself. To travel without boundaries and experience the world of gay travel is a way I can see that I am free to be me.
So, join me in this effort to put a twist on lesbian and gay travel. I will make it my objective to provide you with quality information to help you make informed decisions for your own travel dreams, as well as interesting news and opinions on items affecting the lives of the gay traveler.
